In early 2020, PPPEA East was selected for an Estate Upgrading Programme (EUP), where the landscaping, mobility, drainage and lighting of the area were reviewed for enhancement. The PPPEA Committee worked closely with ThinkPlace (the appointed facilitator) to distribute flyers and put up posters around the estate, inviting residents to share their lifestyles and experiences in relation to the usage of public facilities and spaces.

The response rate was heartening. ThinkPlace then organized Zoom as well as in-person focus group sessions with residents at the Telok Blangah Community Club where residents contributed their experiences and opinions of areas that could be included in the EUP. Residents were able to vocalise and sometimes even illustrate their ideas. Neighbours were also able to interact and get to know each other better.

ThinkPlace collated the results and findings from these sessions in May 2021. The various agencies have called for tenders for project consultants and are currently awaiting results. We will provide more updates here as we receive them!
